For the past three Thursdays, I’ve been taking Life Coaching sessions. And honestly, one thing surprised me. My mentor is someone who openly admits that he is still struggling too.
He studied and trained to become a Life Coach. He learned how to guide people, listen deeply, and help others process life and emotions. But despite all his training, he humbly admits that he is still a work in progress himself. He has his own wounds. His own battles. His own weaknesses and failures.
And strangely… that gave me peace. Because I realized: I wasn’t being guided by someone pretending to have it all together. I was being guided by someone who understands brokenness because he has lived through it too. And I don’t judge him for that. Because the truth is, pareho lang kaming nangangailangan ng grasya ng Diyos araw-araw.
Yet despite his imperfections, God is using him to help me heal. Every session feels different. There are moments when I suddenly become emotional. Moments when tears just begin to fall. Moments when I know deep inside: “Lord, Ikaw ito. Ikaw ang nagsasalita.” And that’s what amazes me the most.
God often uses ordinary people to reach us. Not the flawless. Not the strongest. Not the people who seem to have everything figured out.
He uses wounded people to help heal wounded people. Mga taong hindi mo aakalain na mag-aakay sa’yo pabalik sa Diyos. Mga taong may sariling laban din. Mga taong tahimik ding umiiyak minsan. And through them, God whispers, “You are not alone.”
Napakabuti talaga ng Diyos. He doesn’t wait for people to become perfect before using them. If He did, then no one would ever be worthy to serve.
Instead, God works through surrendered hearts. Broken hearts. Honest hearts. Maybe that’s why healing feels more real when it comes from someone who understands pain too. Because sometimes, the best people to remind us about grace… are the ones who desperately need grace themselves.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
— Bible, 2 Corinthians 12:9
