GONG OF FAITH: A Journey of Gratitude

Beating or sounding the gong at the end of a treatment cycle is a tradition in some cancer centers. They have a gong here in Calamba Medical Center’s Cancer Institute.

I turned 58 years old last June 22 and have been battling cancer for more than a year now.

When my mom was still alive, she always tells us, “π»π‘’π‘€π‘Žπ‘” π‘›π‘–π‘›π‘¦π‘œ π‘˜π‘Žπ‘˜π‘Žπ‘™π‘–π‘šπ‘’π‘‘π‘Žπ‘›π‘” π‘šπ‘Žπ‘”π‘ π‘–π‘šπ‘π‘Ž 𝑑𝑒𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑔 π‘π‘–π‘Ÿπ‘‘β„Žπ‘‘π‘Žπ‘¦ π‘›π‘¦π‘œ, π‘π‘–π‘™π‘Žπ‘›π‘” π‘π‘Žπ‘ π‘Žπ‘ π‘Žπ‘™π‘Žπ‘šπ‘Žπ‘‘ π‘ π‘Ž π‘šπ‘”π‘Ž π‘π‘–π‘¦π‘Žπ‘¦π‘Ž 𝑛𝑔 π·π‘–π‘¦π‘œπ‘ .”

True to her words, I experienced countless blessings despite my illness. I constantly feel God’s presence through those who help financially, with their prayers, and emotional support.

Dahil dito, wala na akong ninanais na material gifts.

Ang dalangin ko sa aking kaarawan ay ang aking paggaling, Papa Mike’s good health, and a great future for my children– Jude and King. I also pray that I will be able to continue my mission, and that many will see Jesus’ presence in my life.

I am claiming in faith that after my radiation treatment, I am able to beat that gong of victory. It will be a major milestone in my healing journey– a sense of accomplishment, hope, and inspiration to all those who are fighting cancer.

It’s a reminder that as God’s beloved, we are all swimming in an ocean of blessings, and that we can win over life’s biggest battle.
