THE QUIET WORK OF GOD

Last year was one of the hardest seasons of my life. Heartbreak and disappointment left me questioning God and wondering why He allowed me to face so many trials. Holding on to my faith was difficult.

During Holy Week, I admitted this struggle to a priest. His simple advice has stayed with me ever since: “πΆπ‘Ÿπ‘Žπ‘€π‘™ π‘‘π‘œπ‘€π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘‘π‘  πΊπ‘œπ‘‘, 𝑖𝑓 π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ β„Žπ‘Žπ‘£π‘’ π‘‘π‘œ. πΌπ‘›π‘β„Ž 𝑏𝑦 π‘–π‘›π‘β„Ž, π‘ π‘™π‘œπ‘€π‘™π‘¦ π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘Žπ‘β„Ž π‘œπ‘’π‘‘ π‘‘π‘œ π»π‘–π‘š.” So, as hard as it was, I did.

I often prayed for God to take away the pain. Looking back, I realize He answered a different prayer. Instead of removing my suffering, He used it to teach me patience, humility, forgiveness, and trust. The greatest evidence of His presence was not that life became easier, but that I became different.

Today, many of the challenges I faced are slowly turning around. But the greatest blessing wasn’t the change in my circumstancesβ€”it was the quiet work God had been doing in my heart all along.

When life becomes difficult, don’t only ask God to end the trial. Ask Him what He wants you to learn from it. You may discover that the lesson itself is the blessing.
