MORE THAN ENOUGH

Since it was Fatherโ€™s Day yesterday, this story is about my dadโ€™s personal experience of encountering God in the ordinary.

Decades ago, our familyโ€™s single mode of transportation was an old motorcycle, which we fondly call โ€œNinja Turtleโ€ because of its speedย ๐Ÿ˜ย My dad would ride it daily from our house in Paraรฑaque to his office in Makati.

One day, my dad just had enough fuel for a one-way trip to his office. He went to work and planned of requesting for a cash advance from his employer so he could go home. Unfortunately, his boss did not go to office that day.

My dad went home with barely enough fuel. His motorcycle stopped midway through his trip forcing him to push it while walking his way back home.

Not long enough, another rider passed him by and asked what happened. He offered to pull my dadโ€™s motorcycle using a rope attached to his until they reached the nearest gas station. The rider paid for my dadโ€™s fuel just enough for him to go home and left immediately even before my dad was able to thank him.

To that stranger, it may just be a random act of kindness. To my father, it was Godโ€™s faithfulness in display.

Friend, do you have barely enough today?
