I booked my family’s flights from Palawan to Manila and then from Manila to Hong Kong for our family trip. The Puerto Princesa-to-Manila flight was booked for April 9, only for me to later realize that April 8, the day of the Feast was actually a Wednesday.
I was filled with regret. It had always been my dream to bring my family and experience the Feast together. I thought this was my one opportunity, and I had missed it.
Determined not to give up, I decided that I would personally shoulder the rebooking fees, no matter how much it would cost, because I know I was doing it for the Lord. But when I checked the fees, the rebooking cost for each person was even more expensive than the original ticket price.
Still, I didn’t lose hope, every day, I checked the airline’s website, hoping the rebooking fees would go down. Instead, they kept increasing. Eventually, I reached the point where I felt hopeless.
That’s when I prayed:
“Lord, I want my family to experience You and encounter You through the Feast. If it is Your will, I know You will make a way.”
A month later, something unexpected happened.
I received an email informing me that their flight schedule had been changed from a morning flight to an afternoon flight. The email also gave me the option to select a different flight if the new schedule didn’t work for me.
Curious, I clicked on “More Options.”
And there it was.
A flight on April 8.
I immediately got goosebumps.
In that moment, I was reminded that when something is in God’s plan, He can make a way where there seems to be none.
I was able to rebook my family’s flight to Manila for April 8 at 12:00 noon for free, and by 7:30 PM, we were all gathered together at the Wednesdsy Feast.
What I thought was a closed door became an answered prayer. This moment changed their lives forever.
