βWhy me, Lord?β
Years ago, I donated blood through a company blood drive. A few days later, the clinic asked to meet with me. Worried that something was wrong, I attended the appointment only to discover surprising news: I have one of the rarest blood types in the world.
My blood can help many patients, especially newborns, and is constantly in demand. At the same time, doctors remind me to be careful because I can only receive blood from donors with the same rare type.
Because of this gift and responsibility, I make every effort to donate blood whenever I am eligible, despite the extra preparations and sacrifices involved.
After my latest blood donation last Thursday, I reflected on the question I once asked God. I realized that my blood type mirrors a part of my personality. I naturally want to help others, even when it is inconvenient, yet I often find it difficult to ask for help myself.
I thanked the Lord for this unique blessing and the opportunity to serve others through it. His gift reminds me that blessings are not only meant to be received but also shared.
