Kung mayroong isang bagay na laging sinasabi sa akin ng aking nanay, ‘yun ay “𝐻𝑢𝑤𝑎𝑔 𝑘𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑝𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑜𝑑 𝑠𝑎 𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑢𝑏𝑖𝑔.”
You see, I overthink a lot. I panic at the slightest error. I tremble at every mistake and think of the worst possible scenario that could ever happen.
As a student, I used to think that not having a perfect score in an exam would automatically remove me from the honor roll. Regrettably, I carried that mindset even in the workplace right now. Sometimes, I catastrophize and think that a careless error would downright result to me being fired out of the company.
But looking back, I realize that in all these scenarios, 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒆. In the end, it was not that bad after all. My mistake is never a failure.
When I was in my youth, our youth adviser would always compare God’s love into an ocean. Our sin may be the size of the Titanic, but when it gets immersed into His ocean of love, it can no longer be found.
What my mom would always tell me makes more sense to me right now. Our past mistakes are like a glass of water poured out into an ocean. If we just allow ourselves to be immersed in God’s ocean of love, His mercy would erase numerous errors and wash away a multitude of sin.
