Working in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry is a jungle. Unlike traditional businesses where employees simply report to work, finish tasks, and go home, we BPO workers constantly prove ourselves. We are measured by numbersβproductivity, quality, sales, and behavior metrics.
Our scorecard becomes the basis of career discussions, promotions, regularization, or even Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). In many ways, it feels like a rat race. We work as one team, yet we also compete to stay on top.
These past three weeks have been crucial at work. We had finished training and were now being judged to see if we deserved a place in the new project. I became very prayerful because it was our first week of grading, yet I received failed scores. Frustrated and anxious, I begged the Lord to help me pass. I even asked Him to give me βeasyβ workables. Instead, the Lord seemed to give me the hardest ones.
Later, I realized God was not punishing meβHe was strengthening me. Easy tasks may have given quick success, but difficult ones were teaching me patience, humility, perseverance, and trust. The struggle was shaping me into someone stronger.
Even when my scorecard says I am failing, Godβs scorecard says I am still His childβI am always welcome in His Kingdom.
