FINDING GOD IN THE ORDINARY

by Mike Sanchez

I knew it. Bro. Bo Sanchez reads our #GOTO articles. His big message in MOA Arena in the Grand Easter Feast:

God is found in the ordinary.

Bo’s message is so touching. It is the same message we’ve been writing and reflecting for 2 years now.

God is God of the ordinary.

He is not just found when you’re reading the bible. Or in miraculous events.

God is also present in your morning routines. When you’re preparing breakfast for your kids. Or even while in the jeepney going to work.

God is not just found in answered prayers. He is found also in your struggles and pain.

God is not just in your happiness, and mountain-top experiences. God is also in our doubts and fear– these emotions are sacred moments where God meets you.

Friend, recognize God in the ordinary.

This also means you can bring God to the ordinary.

You can bring God when you preach, lead worship, or facilitate light group discussion. And you can also bring God while performing your daily work.

God’s call and purpose is wherever you are. Loving others does not have to be monumental.

Love is when you bathe your husband because he is unable to bathe himself. Love is also when you wash the dishes because you want to help mommy in the house.

You can bring heaven where you are.

While we often look for God in the spectacular, He is most consistently found in the ordinary areas of our lives.

Do not forget that in every step in our journey, God is there. Even in the ordinary.
