YOU’RE NOT WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY

Written by Yabee Eusebio

I think it was a month ago when my wife and I were walking outside to buy some food for dinner. Our simple conversation of what to eat went deeper to how we as a couple were trying to break generational sins. This isn’t about what it was but who we became when we were consciously doing our best to break the cycle. We noticed that we – most especially myself – acted and talked very differently when we are in the presence of God. Be it leading a fellowship, doing Love Someone Today (LST), or mentoring people.

It’s not like what we call “doble kara” or two-faced… it’s more that we “revert” to how God originally designed us when we do our service in ministry. Then I remembered the slogan of a chocolate bar – You’re not you when you’re hungry.

When we are spiritually hungry or starving, we act differently than what God has planned us to be. We sin, we take life as it is, and maybe act shamefully. Since we’ve graduated from The Feast Discipleship programs, we’ve been mentoring and journeying with a lot of servants and Feasters. We speak of God’s blessings in our messy life when we do this but act and talk differently when we are with other people (at least myself).

That’s why we constantly need to attend the Holy Mass, have the sacraments, The Feast, and continue to grow through life ministries, reading the Bible, and spending time alone with God so that we stay in His presence as much as possible so that we won’t be so spiritually hungry that we stray from His plan and original design for our lives.

Praying for everyone today. ❤
