TIME CHECK

Last month I finished reading the book Faith-Inspired Entrepreneur, and one of the things that struck me in the book is that we are God’s Stewards and as stewards, we are to care for the things entrusted to us. It means that our time, talent, and treasure belong to God, and we are simply safekeeping them for him. And it really struck me when the author said that β€œWhen you are stewards, it means everything you have is for God, even on days that you are not in church. On days that you are at work or lazily resting on the couch, your Three T’s should be honoring God.

Because of that reminder, I became aware of the things I do. Everything was recorded. It’s like I started doing a mental ISO (International Organization for Standardization) report.
This is how my Monday looks as I do a mental ISO from 8am-12pm.
8:00-8:15 Morning Prayer
8:15-8:30 Feed Olaf and Cheetos
8:30-9:30 Doom Scroll
9:30-9:45 Breakfast
9:45-10:15 Doom Scroll
10:15- 11:00 Reply to emails and other messages
11:00-11:15 Break (Doom Scroll)
11:15-12:00 Read Manuscript
12:00-1:00 Lunch Break (half of which is spent doom scrolling)

I guess you get the picture. I spent almost two hours doom scrolling, which is not an honorable way of using the time God gave me.

Because of this, I developed a certain awareness when I am not using my time wisely.

β€œTeach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” -Psalm 90:12
Remind us to be good stewards of the time you gave us.
