My daughter, who is a teacher like me, wanted to take our turtle to her class to be the class pet, but as she was waiting for approval from the school administrators, the turtle kept growing so quickly that it soon became too big for the tank. With a heavy heart, she decided to give it up for adoption to someone who had a larger pond.
Then, three weeks after school started, her daughter (my granddaughter) found a tiny turtle in the playground, just the right size for the tank. She immediately messaged her principal, and this time approval was granted right away. The baby turtle became the class pet.
This experience reminded me of how, when we lovingly surrender something important to us, God often replaces it with something even better. Just when we think it is not His will, He surprises us by giving it back in a more fitting and beautiful way. May we continue to trust God, who loves us so much that He desires nothing less than the very best for us.
