I took my grandbaby to a waterpark, and I witnessed something that spoke deeply to me. As he was watching the splashing water, another child kept trying to splash his face. He didn’t like it, so he quietly kept moving away, but the boy kept following him.
When my husband saw this, he immediately stood up to intervene. But I told him, “Wait. Let’s see how he handles this.” We watched closely. What amazed me was that my grandbaby wasn’t even paying attention to the other boy. His eyes were fixed on the beautiful fountain in front of him, and eventually, the other child just gave up and walked away.
That experience reminded me of how God works with us. Sometimes, He steps back and allows us to face trials—not because He doesn’t care, but because He’s watching to see if we’ll stand firm, if we’ll draw closer to Him. And just like my grandbaby, when our eyes remain fixed on God, the trials and distractions lose their power over us. As long as we keep our focus on Him, we can rest assured—everything will be all right.
