We were having family dinner when Zaire, my 4-year-old nephew, suddenly cried because his toy got broken. His dad was just beside him watching.
โ€ And so, he handed the toy to his dad and in less than a minute, my brother was able to fix it.
My nephew instantly changed his mood from a cranky little boy to a happy one with a smile that reaches up to his ears.
I was pondering during that moment and thought how we are like toddlers when our lives get broken. We whine all the time and complain endlessly.
I could imagine how our heavenly Father watches over us and just waits for us to come to Him so He can fix our situation. After all, He is our Creator.
There are times when the Lord wants to immediately come to our aid, but we are too overwhelmed by our emotions and fail to recognize His presence. Oftentimes, we hold on to our pain longer and do not want to let go.
Maybe you are a spiritual crybaby like meโ€”always wanting to feel assured of Godโ€™s presence when life gets tough.
Well, the good news is, God is with us all along. He is just waiting for us to come to Him.
And maybe a simple solution may not instantly fix our brokenness like how my brother fixed my nephewโ€™s toy. But Godโ€™s presence is enough comfort to give us joy.
