CITIZEN

By Oying Isidoro

It was way past midnight when my friend Wendell took this stolen shot of me doing one-to-one discipleship a few weeks ago. Our sessions usually reach this “unholy hours” of the night as our sessions usually start immediately after the Feast, and that is around 10 pm.

As a preacher, I believe I have already given God’s message when I preached, but I still believe that God’s kingdom is built by discipling one person at a time. It is in those stories where friendships are formed, in those meals that bonds are created, and it is in that journey that another person is added to God’s Kingdom.

So this post goes out to all my fellow disciple makers. Do not get discouraged; it is tiring and tedious. Some of us stay up late while others wake up early just to do what we do.

We do it because we are called to.

We do it because we want to obey the Lord.

We do it because this is the best way to love our neighbor. To make sure that they know Jesus.

This is who we are, and this is what we do.
