Lent Day 1 | Embraced: Get To Know How Big Your God Is

Lent is more than just giving up your favorite things. Lent is not about you doing something for God, it is about God doing something for you. Let’s make this Lent a different kind of Lent. Ask God to reveal Himself to you during these 40 days of knowing Him more and allow Him to do something new in your life. Welcome to Embraced!

Today, Ash Wednesday, we start the Lenten Season. We invite you to enter into a 40-day personal prayer time with God and let Him meet your deepest needs in five ways—as our Father, our Leader, our Provider, our Healer, and our Protector.

As we journey in the coming days, we encourage you to:

LISTEN to the Word that will touch your hearts.

WATCH stories of hope and victory from ordinary people.

PRAY in silence and be alone with God.

REFLECT on His messages and share them to bless others.

Lent Day 2 | Embraced: Experience God as Father

Learn today that the first step of our Christian life is not to work, to do, to strive, or even to love—but first to be loved.

God loves you as you are. He accepts you totally.

For your further reading, our Gospel today is Luke 9:22-25.

This Lent, come as you are and let God embrace you.

Lent Day 3 | Embraced: What Kind of Daddy Do You Have?

All of us grew up with different images of fathers. Some fathers are physically present at home, but they don’t engage with kids. Some grew up knowing their father as an important man doing very important things, but as he grew older, he realized he wasn’t among the important things his father was busy about. And the list goes on.

God is your Father and let this be your sole reference of how a father should be.

Today, may you be reminded that while people and earthly relationships may fail, our Father in heaven never will.

For your further reading, our Gospel today is Matthew 9:14-15.

This Lent, come as you are and let God embrace you.

Lent Day 4 | Embraced: Who is God the Father

God is “Abba”. Abba means father. God is our Father. As a father, He wants to have a personal relationship with us. And as His children, let’s put our full dependence on Him.

God is our Father. As you pray today, speak to Him like your own. He’s listening. He’s waiting. He’s excited to hear your heart’s desires. Because it gives Him joy to have you as His child.

For your further reading, our Gospel today is Luke 5:27-32.

We’re blessed to have shared 4 days of prayer with you. We will resume our daily devotions for Lent on Monday, March 2. During Sundays of Lent, we invite you to celebrate a mini-Easter with us at The Feast.

Join The Feast and experience more of God’s love. Find a Feast near you today: www.feast.ph/locations. Watch the Livestream on this page too.

Lent Day 5 | Embraced: God is With You

On the first week of Lent, we are learning about God as our Father. God is Emmanuel—which means He is with us.

Remember that in your darkness, God is with you. He will never leave or abandon you. When you’re in pain, God embraces you and feels your pain. He weeps with you. Because He is your Father. He is Emmanuel. And today, silence all the chaos in your heart and remember that He is always with you.

For your further reading, our Gospel today is Matthew 25:31-46.

This Lent, come as you are and let God embrace you. EMBRACED is a 40-day online Lenten devotional designed to journey with you as you walk with Jesus in His passion, death on the cross, until His resurrection. We enjoin the Catholic community in commemorating Lent in deep prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Through Embraced, we pray that you get to know Jesus more as you open your heart to the Word, His daily message, and stories from people who experienced Him as well.

… 6th week of our 40-day devotion

DAY 29: Real community isn’t about structures, activities, rules or programs, but persons embracing other persons in their hearts.
This is who we are at The Feast–broken and blessed, a family for all. Watch Lala, a Feast servant, share about how this loving community helped her go through her tough days.
May we also ask for a small request? As we pause and pray today, please intercede for all the Feasts around the world that may everything we do center on God’s love as the community takes on its mission of being a home for sinners like you and me.

Reflection: Do you have a problem with letting go? Why?

DAY 31: We should outgrow our communities. If we never reach this point, then our communities have failed. Because to substantially internalize its culture within our souls so that God can send us to new territories is the best compliment we can give our community.
Today, Bro. Bo Sanchez teaches us that our paramount need to remain in community is to love.
