I was in despair when the year started because my prayer did not get answered last year. I had been waiting and preparing for it for a couple of years already. I thought 2025 was the year God would grant my prayer because it was the Jubilee Year of Hope. It was almost within reach before the year ended but it vanished too soon.
You could just imagine how heartbroken I was when Pope Leo closed the jubilee doors in Vatican. My hopes were shattered. ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ข ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฑ๐ข๐จ๐ด๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฏ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ช๐ต.
I went through a period of grief for a time. I am grateful that I was able to attend two retreats last January that greatly helped me process my emotions.
In one of those retreats, we had a Eucharistic Adoration where I just poured my heart out to the Lord. I couldnโt feel His presence that much, so I just said, โ๐๐ข๐ถ๐ด๐ข๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ฎ๐ฐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฐ, ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฅ. ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฑ๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ ๐๐ข ๐ด๐ข ๐ข๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ.โ
In the middle of our adoration, my eyes got fixed on the background behind the Blessed Sacrament. It was an image portraying Jesusโ appearance to Thomas and His disciples after His resurrection. Behind Jesus was a closed door.
I recalled the exact words in the Gospel of John: โ๐โ๐๐ข๐โ ๐กโ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ค๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ฝ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐กโ๐๐.โ
The Lord reminded me that He is ๐ผ๐บ๐ป๐ถ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ (all-powerful), ๐ผ๐บ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ (all-knowing) and ๐ผ๐บ๐ป๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ (all-present). He is not bound by time because He is Time Himself โ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐น๐ฝ๐ต๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ข๐บ๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ (the beginning and the end).
Suddenly, hope started to fill my heart again. There is no closed door that God is not able to open and enter in.
