A SHEPHERD AT 50

Today, we celebrate a life that has quietly and powerfully led many of us closer to God.

At 50, Bro. Oying stands before us not as a perfect man, but as a faithful one. He is humble and down to earth. Totoong tao, walang pretensions. What you see is what you get. And maybe that’s why so many people love him — because he leads not from a pedestal, but from a place of authenticity.

Yes, he carries his own battles. Even his psoriasis is something he lives with daily. But he never allows it to define him or limit his mission. Instead, he continues to show up. He continues to preach. He continues to serve. He continues to say “yes” to God. And that is leadership…

Last Wednesday’s tribute during our Feast session was proof of how deeply he is loved. The tears, the gratitude, the stories — they were not forced. They were the natural overflow of lives touched by a man who simply chose to follow Jesus again and again.

He may not see it all the time, but fruit is growing. Lives are being changed. Hearts are returning to God. Largely because of him.

“Dear Lord, we ask you to strengthen our dear brother. Let him soar again where he feels tired. When he grows weary, remind him that he does not carry this mission alone. When doubts whisper, let Your voice be louder. When pressures rise, let Your peace rise higher.”

And may he always remember—he is first Your beloved son before he is our leader.

Happy 50th Birthday, Bro. Oying, our beloved Builder.
