I had been running on nearly depleted energy over the past weeks. It was a hectic month filled with simultaneous responsibilitiesβwork, side hustles, discipleship and ministry activities, preparation for the Holy Week Recollection, and many others.
My body was screaming from physical and mental exhaustion. There were days when I woke up feeling tired with sore muscles even without having any physical activity the previous day. I suffered from recurring headaches.
Last Wednesday, I decided to stay at home to rest and watch the Feast online. After work, I took a pain reliever for my headache and lay in bed while listening to the talk. In the middle of it, I felt an urge to pause and spend some time in deep prayer. I switched to instrumental worship music and poured my heart out to the Lord, seeking His presence and strength. The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed.
I knew I needed more of His presence to renew my drained body and spirit. A few days after, I spent an hour in the Blessed Sacrament before going to Mass. It was the recharge I badly needed. I was able to refill my cup and became ready to pour myself again to others.
If you are feeling drained and exhausted right now, draw strength from His presence. Allow Him to fill your empty cup.
