It has been a yearly tradition that we identify our β€œword of the year” with our co-leaders at the Feast. This sets the direction for what we want to achieve and who we want to become for the entire year.

During our first Light Group for 2026, we declared our word for the year and shared how far we have come in terms of achieving our word for the past year. We came to realize that when we declare a certain word, then we must brace ourselves and be ready for opportunities and oppositions that will prove or test it.

My word last year was π’ˆπ’“π’π’˜π’•π’‰. But looking back, I felt that I was stuck in many areas of my life in 2025. My finances were barely enough. My career was just fine. Ministry wise, our Feast was not growing in number.

I was starting to feel down until I realized that growth is not always what we see on the surface. Sometimes, growth can be lateral. The Lord then revealed to me the people I have accompanied in their discipleship journey and how they have grown in their own faith. Some of them have been actively serving in ministry despite their own challenges. Others are now attending the Feast and serving with their family members.

All this time, I was growing roots. God only asked me to plant the seeds, and He was the One who caused the growth.

As St. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:6, β€œπΌ π‘π‘™π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘π‘’π‘‘ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑑, π΄π‘π‘œπ‘™π‘™π‘œπ‘  π‘€π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘‘ 𝑖𝑑, 𝑏𝑒𝑑 πΊπ‘œπ‘‘ β„Žπ‘Žπ‘  𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 π‘šπ‘Žπ‘˜π‘–π‘›π‘” 𝑖𝑑 π‘”π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘€.”

If you feel that nothing in your life has been growing lately, trust that God is growing your roots.
