I’m having mixed emotions. This is my last Christmas in my current employment.
After 33 years, my corporate life– including the deadlines, and the morning commutes– has now come to an end. It is a long tenure, much like the 33 years of Christ’s own life here on earth.
And just as Jesus fulfilled his specific mission, I have fulfilled mine within the walls of my company.
As I stand at my door today, I find myself looking back at a journey that has spanned 33 years. Three decades of challenges, triumphs, and shared growth have filled this space. The time has come to close this door.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, I am reminded of the profound peace that settled over Bethlehem on that holy night. It was a peace that signified the end of a long period of waiting, and the beginning of a story that would change the world forever.
While there’s a salad of emotions right now in my heart, the predominant ones are gratitude and peace. Peace, knowing that a great work has been finished. That I’ve given my best to my company. Gratitude, for all the blessings and grace poured on me throughout the years.
While this door closes, a beautiful new story is opening. Just as the Nativity brought hope and peace into the world, this new season of my life brings the promise of peace, and new purpose.
To all I’ve worked with as co-employees all over Southeast Asia and the Pacific (some are shown in this photo), suppliers, and customers, thank you for being part of my 33-year journey.
I wish everyone the joy and peace that this season represents.
