NINE WEDNESDAY

By Charm Dogma

I was asking God for a special blessing. My friend and I decided to attend the Nine consecutive Novena Wednesday mass at the Baclaran Church.

We were so excited. We prayed the novena, in which the whole community prayed through the intercession of the Mother of Perpetual Help, for ourselves and for each other.

I’m grateful for this experience — it gave peace to my heavy heart and reminded me that I’m one with the community in prayer. Through the Mass, I felt God’s presence and was moved by the stories of answered prayers.

Continuing the consecutive Wednesdays was very challenging. The excitement faded on the 5th week, but God was not only teaching me patience but perseverance. It reminds me that faith is not instant; it is built through constancy, humility, and love.

I am grateful by the 7th week, and by the 9th, we finally “graduated”.

However, my prayer was not answered.

But it is okay. I’ve learned what it means to have faith even when I cannot see the outcome. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to experience this devotion.

I feel truly inspired seeing friends waking up early to attend 𝑆𝑖𝑚𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝐺𝑎𝑏𝑖. It’s more than just tradition — it’s a beautiful expression of faith and love for God. Whether or not our prayers are answered right away, may these nine days bring us closer to Him and deepen the hope and joy in our hearts this Christmas.
