CHANGED FOR GOOD

I just finished watching Wicked: One Wonderful Night, and when they sang “For Good,” something stirred in me. I’ve always loved musicals, and Wicked has a special place in my heart. I’ve always seen myself in Elphaba: misunderstood, different, trying to do good yet often seen the wrong way.

Then came Glinda. Their friendship was imperfect but real, and it changed them both. When they sang, “I know I’m who I am today, Because I knew you,” I was reminded of my own turning point.

I grew up religious, but I didn’t truly know God until I was fourteen, when my family and I attended the Feast for the first time. I realized faith wasn’t about rules but relationships; being seen and loved by Someone who never leaves. Coincidentally, that happened exactly fourteen years ago.

Like Glinda’s friendship transformed Elphaba, meeting Jesus changed me. Not just for the better, but for good. He met people the world rejected: the lost, the broken, the outcasts and loved them as they were. That love didn’t just comfort; it transformed.

Because I knew Jesus, I’ve been changed for good. He didn’t erase my past; He redeemed it. He didn’t remove my flaws; He gave them purpose. He didn’t demand perfection; He offered grace that stayed.

Now, whenever I hear the song “For Good,” I’m reminded of what happens when grace meets our story. Jesus whispers, “You are loved. You belong. You are Mine.”

Because I knew Him, I have been changed for good.
