Being betrayed by friends hurts in a way thatβs hard to explain. These were people I trusted; people I thought had my back. Then one day, I discovered theyβd been talking about me in ways I never expected, and it hurt more than I could say.
Every part of me wanted to confront them, to defend myself, to make them regret it. But I knew reacting in anger would only make things worse and hurt others caught in between. So I chose silence; not because I wasnβt hurt, but because I didnβt want to add more pain to the situation.
Still, forgiveness isnβt easy. Some days I replay everything in my head and wonder why I didnβt fight back. Then I remember: even Jesus was betrayed by someone close to Him. Judas was part of His circle, someone He shared meals and prayers with. Yet Jesus didnβt retaliate. He let God handle what He couldnβt control.
Forgiveness doesnβt mean pretending it didnβt happen. It means letting go of the desire to get even. Itβs choosing peace over pride and trusting that God sees what others donβt.
If youβve ever been in the same place, I get it. Pray before reacting. Ask God for strength to forgive, even when you donβt feel like it. Pray, too, for those who hurt you; that God softens their hearts as He heals yours. Let Him handle the rest, and keep your heart clean.
