Excited ako nung makita ko ang aking “ina-apo” na si Baby Rafa sa Wednesday Feast for the very first time. Si Kim ay Zil ay inaanak ko sa kasal, kaya “ina-apo” ko ang anak nilang si Rafa.
This photo reminded me of a very old movie, “3 MEN AND A BABY”.
Itβs about three carefree bachelors and how they “grew up” when a baby is left on their doorstep.
The baby was instrumental to the transformation of these self-centered men. From being βboys” living a bachelor fantasy, they became responsible and caring fathers to this child.
Being a father to a daughter myself, I can attest to the joy of parenthood. I was excited to go home from work, and to spend weekends with my child.
Parenthood transformed me. My life suddenly had a purpose beyond me. I worked hard because of my baby. I gained a new appreciation for the sacrifices of my own parents who worked hard for me.
Just as earthly parents delight in their children’s very existence, God takes immense joy in you.
Psalm 139:13-14 speaks of God knitting you in your mother’s womb. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God himself.
Undeserved, yet the Father’s love is not conditional on your performance. It’s just who He is. And it gave him great pleasure for who you are.
God is so in love with you that He gave His only Son Jesus.
And God is hoping that we turn away from our self-centeredness, and find real joy by giving ourselves to Jesus, the Selfless God, who is full of mercy and grace.
